If you have felt disconnected and drained, you are probably spending too much time as a worrier and a fixer and not enough time as a solver and a person who is empowering those around you. There is a huge difference between being a caregiver and being a caretaker. A caretaker takes issues on, whereas a caregiver gives others more life force by modeling vibrancy, praying, and holding sacred space. When you are a caretaker, you take away someone’s right to be independent and make the person codependent with you.
