We’re like the guy who was trying to lose some weight. When he got to the office one morning his co-workers noticed that he was carrying two dozen Crispie Cream Donuts. They asked him why he had bought two dozen donuts if he was trying to lose weight. He said, “Well on my way to work this morning I said a short prayer. I said, “God if you want me to buy some donuts for breakfast this morning, just let there be a vacant parking space in front of the donut shop. And wouldn’t you know it, on my 8th trip around the block a parking place suddenly opened up. Sometimes we give in to temptation because we plan on it. But we’re not the first generation of people to do that. The Bible is full of examples of men and women who set themselves up to fail, or put themselves into a situation where they knew they were going to be tempted.
